Additionally, we pride ourselves on our rapid turnaround time, ensuring you receive the tools you need, when you need them.
Model Types
Finish Grade - A top-of-finish-grade surface model used by field crews to apply vertical offsets and achieve subgrade layers. This is our most commonly requested model and serves as the primary reference for final grading operations.
Subgrade - A bottom-of-base surface model, typically representing the bottom of stone. This model eliminates guesswork by providing precise offsets across the site, ensuring material depths are built correctly. Additional detail and calculation result in higher modeling effort.
3D Pipe Utility - A 3D model of pipe inverts for storm and sanitary systems. Designed for use with GPS rovers or GPS-equipped excavators to accurately dig pipe to true invert elevations. Water line inverts are typically not included.
Footing 2D - A 2D map overlay showing footing locations only. This is a cost-effective option for adding footing layout information to a model when elevations or excavation depths are not required.
Footing 3D - A 3D surface representing the bottom of concrete footings. Excavation elevations are calculated from top-of-footing elevations and footing depths. This model requires more effort but can significantly reduce layout and digging time in the field.
Stakeout Points - Provided by request. Intended for crews that prefer to perform their own staking for curbs, pavements, footings, drill holes, or footing pier centers.
Model Conversions - Conversion of engineer-provided or third-party models into Topcon, Trimble, or Leica formats. We are experienced with all major data types and machine-control platforms.
What We Need From You
Scope of Work - Let us know what type of model you need in the field. If you’re not sure, that’s fine—we can walk through it with you on a quick phone call and make sure you get the right data.
PDF Drawings - We need the full set of civil PDFs. These are the governing documents for the model. Elevations are taken from the PDFs—not the CAD. We overlay the PDFs on the CAD to confirm everything matches and catch issues before they reach the field.
If you need a footing model, we also need the full set of structural PDFs.CAD Files - Any CAD format or year is acceptable. CAD files provide the base layout and locations needed to build the model. A model cannot be created without CAD files.
If you need a footing model, structural CAD files are also required.Control Points - If you want the data ready for immediate field use, send us your control points (any format). This allows us to verify the model lines up correctly with your site control and catch location issues ahead of time—saving field downtime.
Needed-By Date - Let us know when you need the data. We understand schedules move fast and information often comes in late. Typical turnaround is about one week, but during peak summer months it may take a few weeks. We’ll communicate clearly if timing is tight.
